I’m making a fake pet supply eCommerce site as my first real “big” project. No CMS, just HTML/CSS/JS. What are some interesting ideas I can utilize with this project to learn more about the fundamentals of web development?
Here is the link to what I have so far:
Right now it only looks decent on desktop (forgive me!) so my next big task I want to take on is to make it mobile responsive. I’m using Bootstrap to make this a little easier.
The grey box at the bottom near the footer is supposed to be a Google map, but I still need to figure out how implementing that works. I think it’s an iframe element but I’m not sure.
The next page I’m going to build after this is a products listing page. I’m thinking this will be more JS intensive. Was thinking I’d use JSON to generate a list of products and I want to implement some sort of filtering system with dropdown menus and using JS to achieve this.
I guess I’m just trying to get as much “learning” as I can out of this site I designed, do you guys have any cool suggestions for me beyond what I’ve posted?
