Today, we’re going to discuss control structures and loops in PHP. I’ll show you how to use all the main control structures that are supported in PHP, like if, else, for, foreach, while, and more. What Is a Control Structure? In simple terms, a control structure allows you to control the flow of code execution…
DetailsWordPress utility plugins let you make enhancements to all aspects of your WordPress website: performance, design, and security. With thousands of options available, however, it can be quite difficult sorting the good from the not so good. In addition, you need to be very selective when deciding on what kinds of plugins you want to…
DetailsPricing is one of the most challenging aspects of being a freelance web designer. More specifically, determining what a client will receive in exchange for a particular price. The struggle is real. In my two-plus decades of running a business, this is still an area where I falter from time to time. The line between…
DetailsThese books are excellent foundations, though may be a bit dated for more modern development. I found the core html and JavaScript that is covered in these books is well written and full of great diagrams and illustrations. The content is very well structured, guiding you with a good amount of depth through a lot of the fundamental web development concepts. The jQuery content isn’t quite as relevant as it was a few years ago, and there have been some new features and syntax changes from when these were written (mostly not new things you can do, it just now takes less typing). If you are looking to get a solid background in the basics of web development, these are some great resources. If you’re looking to get more of a jumpstart on modern development practices these might not be quite what you’re looking for.

Hi Developers,
Currently, I’m in the process of designing my portfolio that I will soon develop. Since I will spend so much time creating it, I will make it open source on GitHub for anyone to use.
Here is the current design: Design Version 0.1.
I will be iterating on this design. I would like to mention that I’m not a web designer by trade. Thus, I am very open to any criticism/feedback. If there is anything you would like to change or add to the portfolio, feel free to send me a message. I will consider all requests.

I’m a newly graduated computer engineer and right now I’m continuing with my masters. I am trying to learn every type of programming in order to decide what I like the most. I learned HTML/CSS/JS a month ago. Node.js/Express.js two weeks ago and React.js just one and a half weeks ago and made this as a challenge to myself. So far I am liking web development. I’ll do some mock-up apps probably. Create a portfolio. I am open to ideas.
Debtorian, obviously a placeholder name, is a debt tracking web application. You join to or create common budgets and enter your spendings to them. The app’s goal is to make everyone’s spending equal. For example, flatmates often need to split everything like bills equally, constantly. This can be very frustrating. With this method, everyone pays as much as they can, they enter their spending and leave the calculations like who pays how much more to the app. These “common budgets” supports up to almost an infinite amount of people.
At the top I forgot to mention that I’ve used MaterializeCSS for input fields, MaterialUI for the animations and the rest is just plain old custom CSS. I really need to take some design courses. I know it’s not that good.
Also every request is handled using AJAX and APIs.
If anyone wants to try it out, you can use these accounts or create new ones. But be aware that Passport.js can be problematic when there’s more than one instance for one account.
