Here’s a scenario for you. Post-COVID, you’re out with your friends, and you’re getting hungry. The members of your group start suggesting places where you can go and grab some dinner. There are a lot of eclectic suggestions being thrown about – Chinese, Mexican, Thai, Greek – and none of you is sure what you’re…Details
yes, but these guys are trying to keyword stuff thinking it will boost their rankings. It hasn’t worked for years, but in the good ol days you could just put the words you wanted to rank for 100 times in a div and then use CSS display:none and you’d rank page 1. People made millions of dollars doing this 15-20 years ago
Google caught on pretty quick and you can simply run the text on page to see what percentage of the total words they are, becomes pretty obvious a page is spam when the same word is used constantly
I’ve that lighthouse scores are good for SEO. Based on this, I figured that the campaign teams for politicians would might care about their lighthouse scores, so I looked up Trump’s and Biden’s website and both had pretty awful scores.
Then I thought, maybe Andrew Yang will have a good score, because he’s supposed to be the tech candidate, but no, it also sucked
If these campaign teams don’t care about their lighthouse scores, is it really that important, and does it really have that much of an impact on SEO?Details
The time has come. The WordPress Gutenberg block editor has become reliable enough to power your existing website. You can now eschew that aged page builder plugin in favor of a native content editor. That’s the situation I’ve found myself in. A client that has, for years, utilized a bundled, out-of-date page builder is ready…Details
I have recently been interested in the difference of opinions between the different browser vendors about the future of the web — specifically in the various efforts to push web platform capabilities closer to native platforms, such as Chromium’s Project Fugu. The main positions can be summarized as: Google (together with partners like Intel, Microsoft…Details
Does that mean it’s an Advanced course then? Be a funny sort of web developer who didn’t know these things.
We will start from the ground up by learning how to implement modern web pages with HTML and CSS…
Happy New Year! Today, we’ve got a nifty guide to resolutions that are specifically for designers. What changes do you hope to make in 2021? Did you know that people have been making resolutions to improve themselves and their lives since the time of ancient Babylonians? I’ll admit to making a few of these myself……Details
Hello everyone. Since September I started in the world of web dev. I think I am quite proficient with creating static content with HTML (semantics), CSS (responsive web sites, positioning, flexbox and grid) and a bit of JS (hamburger menu implementation, dark mode, event handling, content that appears on scroll down). The situation is that I am short of money and I see an opportunity to create a “landing page” for some companies and / or businesses close to me. But before offering my service I would like to ask a few questions:
What should I know about hosting? I have to take care of the hosting of the web pages and I need to know that I should learn about security issues or whatever else is behind the web page hosting. I know that there are multiple platforms to host static projects for free such as GitHub but most likely companies and / or businesses want “name.com” domains, so I would like to know the most used services with a good price.
What should I know about the SEO? In the HTML, regardless of the content added in the body tag, only external .css and .js files will be linked, as well as setting the favicon and UTF-8, but I know there are other important “meta tags” that help with the visibility of the pages in search engines.
Where you reside, how much would you charge for a “landing page” like this? I am not the creator of that page but I place it as a reference because it is very similar to what I want to offer and I know that I could do it without problems. I know that the prices are variable depending on the area, but it would help me to have a reference.
In general, what other things should I know? Anything else you may need I would like to know 🙂
My goal is to continue learning JS and then learn React but in the meantime I need to earn some money and I think it’s a good opportunity. Thanks for the help!Details
